Hello, my dear friends! Today, I want to talk about a magical spice that has been used for centuries to heal and nourish the body - turmeric.


If you know my story then you know that I'm on two types of medication and one of the worst side effects that I've experienced in the past are digestive issues. I've tried soooooo many things over the past year and it's been a roller coaster but I've now found a ton of things that are definitely helping and Turmeric is one of them! Turmeric is truly a gift from Mother Nature. This vibrant yellow spice has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years to treat a variety of ailments, from inflammation to digestive issues.


What makes turmeric so magical is its active compound, curcumin. Curcumin has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which help to protect our bodies from the damaging effects of free radicals.

Today, I also want to share with you one of my favorite recipes for a delicious and healthy turmeric latte. This warm and cozy drink is not only soothing but also packed with health benefits.


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup almond milk (or any milk of your choice- I use cashew milk)

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp honey (or maple syrup)

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder

  • dash of nutmeg

  • A pinch of black pepper

  • Optional: a dash of vanilla extract

Directions:


1. Heat the almond milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until hot but not

boiling.

2. Add the turmeric powder, honey, cinnamon, black pepper, and vanilla extract (if using) and whisk until well combined.

3. Continue to heat the mixture for another 2-3 minutes, whisking occasionally, until the flavors have melded together.

4. Pour the latte into a mug and enjoy!


This turmeric latte is not only delicious, but also loaded with health benefits. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, while cinnamon can help regulate blood sugar levels. And the black pepper helps to increase the absorption of the curcumin in turmeric, making it even more effective.
