For a long time, I believed strength meant staying composed, capable, and always available. I built a life that worked on paper. Motherhood. Marriage. Leadership. Service. I learned how to keep going even when it hurt, and I became deeply conditioned to carrying things quietly.
That pattern finally broke when I found myself in a hospital bed going through cancer, and people were still reaching out to me for help. Advice. Support. Answers.
Lying there, it became impossible to ignore what was really happening. That was the moment when I realized that I wasn’t exhausted because I was doing too much. I was exhausted because I had left myself out of my own life.
